Sunday 21st – Saturday 27th May 2017
This year we have decided to combine the impeccable photographic skills of our tour leader Mike Read, with the knowledge of our good friends at Ecotours to create a brand new spring bird photography tour to Hungary at the peak of the breeding season for some of the best photographic opportunities in Europe!
Our hides are already built and located in a scenic and bird-rich area of the famous Kiskunsag National Park. Set by cleverly designed drinking stations at the forest edge, others by marshes or beside the shallow water of alkaline lakes, our bird hides offer truly unparalleled views providing tremendous possibilities for close-up bird photography, where each day may bring something entirely new and unexpected! Not only are there wetland and drinking pool hides but also a tower hide at a nesting colony of Red-footed Falcons. Besides the falcons, there are also nesting Kestrels and Rollers and in 2014 the same piece of woodland also held Long-eared Owls with young. If our local guide finds other photographic opportunities, these will be exploited as and when clients want, with the use of mobile hides.
