This talk takes a journey around the Brittany and Normandy coastline where we visit freshwater marshes, intertidal bays and coastal cliffs to take in much of the wildlife to be found there. This is followed by visits to one of Europe’s best know river deltas, the Camargue for its white horses, black bulls and flocks of pink Flamingos. Wading birds and wildfowl also feature here as they do along the northern French coasts. We also pay brief visits to other habitats close to the Camargue to search for other species such as Short-toed Eagles and Little Bustards. Finally we head across to the French Pyrenees where Eagles and Vultures soar over magnificent peaks and ‘Alpine’ meadows are full of wonderful flowers.
