About Andy

Andy is a Norwich-based freelance photographer with 17 years of experience working in overseas development, environmental, renewable energy and construction sectors. His focus is on photography bearing witness to our impact on the environment as well as demonstrating positive solutions to the resulting environmental and socio-economic problems.

'Andy Bodycombe offers a superb photography service. His pictures are beautifully composed; his preparation work is excellent; and his post-production work is professional and thorough.
I could not recommend him more highly.'
Nick Sireau, Executive Director, SolarAid

'Creative, fast and efficient'

Andy believes in defining and agreeing a clear and simple brief with Clients before embarking on a shoot. Rates, Terms & Conditions and Licences To Use are always discussed up front together with what can be realistically achieved within a given budget.

Andy specialises in natural, candid images that capture the essence of an event without missing out on any key shots specified by a Client. He was commissioned by SolarAid, a new UK registered charity, to document their official launch event at City Hall.

Andy has significant hands-on experience of environmental campaigning and media work having worked as a Greenpeace Area Co-ordinator for several years. He worked alone as SolarAid's first volunteer on solar projects in Malawi and has travelled widely in Africa, Europe and North America.

Andy's engineering, construction and renewable energy background (he was head of Project Management at Solarcentury) gives him an ability to work confidently documenting construction and energy projects without interfering with site work or impacting on site programmes. He will happily liase directly with site managers and foremen to ensure safe and timely access. People feature strongly in Andy's work making him ideal for documentary and progress projects as well as architectural shoots.

Andy holds a current "Site Visitor" CSCS yellow card and has full PPE for working on live construction sites.
