Goin' South
A collection of seascape paintings, inspired by the far south of Cornwall, taken from my exhibition at the Lander Gallery, Truro.
Kynance Cove, near Lizard Point, with its brilliant turquoise water, white sand, islands, caves and unexpected views holds a powerful draw for many artists, myself included.
Kynance Cove is famous for its exposures of the Lizard serpentinite, and the complex array of igneous and metamorphic rocks that form it. The unique geology of the Lizard peninsula, particularly serpentinite, gives rise to a similarly unique range of heathland and wetland habitats that support many rare plants and invertebrates. These habitats can be seen along the cliff tops at Kynance.
