Cyanotypes
I am interested in alternative photographic processes.
One early type of process is the cyanotype.
All the images in this gallery have been made using a digital negative produced on an ink jet printer from original 35mm or 120mm scanned negatives.
I have used arches platine paper, coated using a glass rod with cyanotype solution (mike ware's new cyanotype process). The negative / sensitised paper was exposed in a UV light box for about 5 minutes.
Images are all orignially 5" x 7" in size and have been scanned with minimal enhancement.
Another of my interest areas is collecting / admiring chinese blue and white porcelain.
I hope the photos displayed illustrate my debt to the vision of chinese porcelain artists of centuries ago.
I feel the images are a wonderful amalgum of old and new, of modern technology and traditional art.
